An environmental permit or a demolition notification?

Environmental permit (demolition activity)

You need an environmental permit if you want to demolish:

  • At, on or to a monument? For more information on monuments, go to the page Monumentenzorg.
  • In a protected town or village view.
  • If this is prescribed in the environment plan.

Demolition notification

A demolition notification must always be submitted if you encounter asbestos during demolition and/or more than 10m3 of demolition waste is released.

Private individual

If you are going to remove asbestos-containing materials as a private individual, you must submit the notification at least 5 days before the start of the work. You can hand in construction and demolition waste for a fee at the Milieustraat.

Company

If you are going to remove asbestos-containing materials or carry out demolition work as a company, you must submit the notification at least 4 weeks before the start of the work.
