What are the conditions?

  • Your activity must be able to be visited by residents of the municipality of Leeuwarden.
  • If your organisation participates in a competition or contest, the grant should help promote and further develop your association.
  • You can make 1 or more applications per year. A maximum grant amount of € 2,200 per year is available.
  • The grant is 50% of the organisational costs for the activity, but never more than the amount you are short of and never more than €2,200. You must cover the remaining costs by other means, such as through income from admission, sponsorship, grants from other governments, funds, donors, own contributions or crowdfunding.

What should you attach to your application?

  • An activity plan. This includes an overview describing the nature, scope, period, duration, location and method of implementation of the activities for which funding is sought. A description of the background, rationale, approach, planning, PR and desired audience reach is also requested.
  • A balanced and adequately explained budget of income and expenditure. The budget also shows the requested grant amount. The budget must absolutely be balanced.

When should we receive your application and attachments?

The grant application must be applied for and received by us 8 weeks before you start the activity.

Download and complete the Amateur art grant application form. Send the form, including the annexes, to the City of Leeuwarden. You can also hand it in at the Town Hall.
