Jannie Atsma
Special civil-law registrar Jannie Atsma introduces herself.
Stepping into the future together: I love you, I hâld fan dy
Warmest congratulations on choosing each other! You have decided to say YES to the one you love. The wedding moment marks the start of your celebratory day. That’s where your story of love is told. A personal story. Told in words you can relate to and which add a golden sheen to the day. I’d love to be the one to confirm your declaration of love.
We’ll have a chat about your wishes before your big day. What we talk about will be reflected in the wedding speech. And that’s what it’s all about: saying those words that express your love for each other. I wanted to become a wedding registrar to do my bit towards this very special and important day for you
It all centres on the love between 2 people regardless of age, orientation, religion or nationality. It is the day when you say to the other “I love you” or “I ha dy leaf”, because a speech in Frisian is no problem either. Together, we’ll create a ceremony you will look back on with a smile!
I’m Jannie Atsma, pleased to meet you. I live in Stiens with the love of my life, Ale. I’m the mum of two daughters who have already flown the nest and have enjoyed proud honorary title of ‘beppe’ (Frisian for grandmother) since 2021. I’ve been a wedding registrar for the City of Leeuwarden since June 2016 and get to tell the stories of two people in love. Besides being a wedding registrar, I’m on the city council and do freelancing writing for businesses. I love walking, reading, cooking, but also enjoying a cup of coffee or a glass of wine on a terrace. It will be my pleasure to stand by you for a while during this unique day in your life!
