Redevelopment of Haven Reduzum
The Harbour in Reduzum is being renewed. The harbour will be easier to use, there will be more greenery and it will be better maintained. You can view the first draft via the document First draft redevelopment of harbour.
What are the wishes?
In 2022, the residents of Reduzum set out their ideas on how to redevelop the Harbour. This forms the basis for the first draft of the renewal, which was worked out with the Harbour Committee. The Harbour Committee speaks on behalf of the residents of the Harbour and Reduzum’s green committee.
Key points and wishes of the Harbour Committee
- Request to retain greenery or provide even more greenery.
- More (taller) trees.
- A child-friendly play area (no play equipment required).
- Seating areas (such as raised sides with edges).
- Use of bricks (asphalt removal).
- The number of parking spaces remains the same (16).
- Possibility of more space for driveway for garage Haven number 5/7.
- Space for the Merke and minor events.
- Maintain the closure for through car traffic on the odd-numbered side of the Harbour.
Key points and wishes of the local authority
- Maintenance and/or renewal of all paving.
- Maintenance and/or renewal of the ‘sheet piling’ around the filled-in harbour.
- Maintenance and/or renewal of trees and plants.
- Resolve flooding during heavy and long periods of rainfall.
Questions and Answers
A walk-in evening was organised on 15 October 2024, where Harbour residents could ask questions about issues that were not yet clear. Many questions were asked, such as:
How do we cut the grass in the middle section?
Maintenance will later be coordinated with the city maintenance department. The southern part is not accessible to large mowers, so this might be done with the forestry cutter.
How do we prevent parking in front of/around the planned large tree on the North side?
It will be made clear around the planned tree that parking is not allowed there.
How quickly is the water drained in the lower part?
The low middle section is for temporary collection of rainwater during heavy showers. The wastewater sewer will no longer be overburdened. It will be constructed in such a way that after a heavy one-hour period of rainfall, the lower part will be drained again within a day
Can measures be taken so that young people do not cycle on the South section?
Yes, a high kerb will be placed around the South section.
Can the corner of the Southeast side be rounded to make turning in easier?
Yes, we will round off the corner.
