Leeuwarden European Youth Capital 2028?
Every year, a European city is given the honour of being named European Youth Capital (EYC). As EYC, the city organises events and projects with and for young people. Importantly, young people themselves can influence their surroundings. The City of Leeuwarden is looking into applying.
What do we want to achieve?
Leeuwarden wants to be a place where you as a young person can feel at home, be yourself and fulfil your dreams. We want your voice to be even better heard in Leeuwarden, for you to provide input and enjoy equal opportunities. We also want to showcase the European character in Leeuwarden and Friesland even more.
Why do we want this?
In Leeuwarden, we like to look at people’s strengths and take a positive approach to the future. But growing up in these times is not always easy. That is why we want to involve young people fully in our city’s future plans of our city. Together, we can achieve much more.
