Authenticating a document copy
Organisations will sometimes ask you to send them an authenticated document copy. For instance, a copy of your passport, identity card, driver’s license or residence permit. The local authority produces a copy of the document and authenticates it. This is a statement that the copy looks exactly like the original document. This does not say anything about the authenticity or content of the original document. You will need to make an appointment for this. We cannot help you without an appointment. The visible dates are the only dates available. We therefore ask you not to contact us by phone for an appointment at another time.
