Jongeren Perspectief Fonds (JPF)
In the Jongeren Perspectief Fonds (JPF) (Youth Prospects Fund), the City of Leeuwarden works with young people who have run into debt problems. Help is provided for young people between the ages of 18 and 27 who are unable to solve their debt problems.
How does the JPF work?
You work on your goals together with a coach from the City of Leeuwarden. The process takes two years.
A goal could take the form of a social work placement, a course, or a job.
We repay your debts in return for your efforts.
Participation criteria
- You are aged between 18 and 27.
- You live in the City of Leeuwarden.
- You do not see yourself being able to pay off your debts within three years.
- You are willing and able to work on your goals.
Are you in debt, and do you want to sign up for the JPF?
The local authority joins the JPF in February 2023 at the latest. It is already possible for you to sign up for an intake. Contact the City of Leeuwarden or send an email to jpf@leeuwarden.nl.
You have now registered. What happens next?
Step 1
After submitting your application, you will be invited to an interview with one of the counsellors. Together, you will look into whether this project is right for you.
Step 2
Once you have decided to participate, you make agreements with your coach. These agreements are written down in a contract.
Step 3
Then we look at exactly how much debt you have and with whom. The local authority and De Kredietbank start working on repaying your debts.
Step 4
Once the debts have been cleared, we start working on your future. You and your coach work on this for two years.
