House number
Each building should have a clearly visible house number. Also in the dark. The owner of the home, office, or garage, for example, is responsible for this. Are you having a building constructed or refurnished, divided or merged? Apply for a house number within 14 days.
Are you unwilling or unable to apply online?
Download and complete the form Aanvraag huisnummerbesluit. Send the form to the City of Leeuwarden. You can also hand it in at the Town Hall.
When will I receive my house number?
We will send the number decision to you within 6 to 8 weeks.
Why must a house number be clearly visible?
A clear house number makes a building quickly and clearly findable. Ambulances, fire brigade, police and other emergency workers must be able to find a building quickly. This could be a matter of life or death.
