Quick to:

Why are we doing this?

Dumped bulk waste causes pollution and unsafe situations. By providing containers in the neighbourhood, we aim to reduce the amount of illegally dumped waste.

What can you bring?

You may drop off:

broken furniture and old appliances.

Reusable items

Good items can be given a second life. Neighbours are welcome to take these for free.

You may NOT drop off:

Chemical waste, household waste, food scraps or garden waste.

Where will the container be located?

  • Heechterp-Schieringen – Eikenstraat and Sleedoornstraat.
  • Vrijheidswijk – Gebroeders Wierdastraat.
  • Bilgaard – De Kei and De Gealanden.

Join in and make a difference!

Clear out items you no longer use and contribute to a cleaner neighbourhood. This pilot project will run for one year. After that, the effectiveness of the neighbourhood containers will be evaluated and decisions will be made about the next steps.  Help out by sharing this information with your neighbours. The pilot project is supported by Programma Leeuwarden Oost (the Leeuwarden East Programme).

Together, we can keep the neighbourhood clean and liveable!
