Charity collection permit
There is a national charity collection schedule. It is made by the Centraal Bureau Fondsenwerving (CBF). The organisations listed all have a continuous licence. They notify the local authority 3 months in advance of starting a collection.
Are you unwilling or unable to apply online?
Download and complete the collection permit application form (PDF, 441.12 KB). Send the form by post to the City of Leeuwarden. You can also hand it in at the Town Hall.
When do you need a permit?
- If your organisation is not on the national charity collection schedule.
What are the conditions?
- Your collection period should not be the same as a period already on the national collection schedule.
- You need a CBF mark or a Certificate of Support-worthiness issued by the CBF.
- The maximum collection duration is 1 week.
When do you not need a permit?
- If the collection is among a private group of people.
- If you are a local association or foundation collecting for a charitable purpose or for local interest.
What are the conditions?
- The collection must not be on a Sunday.
- The collector must present proof of identity.
Door-to-door selling or peddling
What is peddling?
Selling or offering products and services at the door or on the road.
What cannot be categorized as peddling?
Offering, selling or delivering goods for sale at a sales stand or market. This also applies to an annual fair or flea market.
What are the rules?
It is not permitted:
- to do peddling if public order, public safety and public health are at risk;
- to peddle on Sundays;
- to peddle on Monday to Saturday from 10 pm to 8 am;
- To stop for more than 10 minutes without contact with a customer.
Do you need a permit?
No permit is needed for peddling on local authority land. For peddling on private property, contact the owner of that property.
