Parking fines (additional assessment)
There are many places in the City of Leeuwarden, where you have to pay to park your car. The traffic warden will issue a fine (additional tax assessment) if the parking ticket or permit is not displayed or has expired, the ticket is not placed fully visibly behind the windscreen or not enough money has been put into a parking meter.
What is an additional assessment?
An additional assessment means you pay for another one hour of parking. You also pay a fine. The amount of that fine is set by law.
You will see a number on the additional assessment. This shows the date and time the traffic warden issued the fine. The first 6 digits of the number are the date.
How do I pay an additional assessment?
Pay the additional tax assessment within 30 days of the date on the letter.
This is the date we sent the assessment. Not the date of the parking violation.
Transfer the amount to:
- Bank account number NL10BNGH0285100343.
- In the name of: City of Leeuwarden.
- Description: tax assessment number and subject number.
Are you paying from abroad?
Note the BIC number: BNGHNL2G. Please note that the amount may take longer to reach us.
Have you not paid on time?
In that case, you will be charged debt recovery costs and perhaps also debt collection interest. We calculate this interest from the day after the last day when you should have paid until the day you pay.
