Environmental inspectors check aspects such as:

• Soil pollution
• Air pollution
• Noise pollution
• Dumping or incinerating waste
• Odour nuisance
• Water pollution

The local authority takes enforcement action if a company violates environmental laws or regulations. The inspectors can ultimately impose a penalty or take administrative enforcement measures.

• For an urgent violation, during opening hours and the violation is currently taking place: contact the City of Leeuwarden.
• For an urgent violation outside opening hours and if the offence is currently taking place: contact the police on 0900-8844.
