Redevelopment of Goudenregenstraat
We will shortly be redeveloping Goudenregenstraat. This redevelopment combines necessary maintenance work with improvements in road safety, liveability and more green space. More information can be found in the draft Goudenregenstraat redevelopment.
Reason for the redevelopment
Goudenregenstraat is being redeveloped because maintenance is needed on the road, parking spaces and pavements. We also receive many reports about traffic speed, road safety and vibrations in the street. By combining maintenance now with improvements, we can make the street safer, more liveable and sustainable in one go.
What will change?
- Road safety. There will be a speed limit of 30 kilometres per hour and the road will be made narrower. This will improve safety and reduce traffic vibrations.
- Greenery and parking. Parking spaces will remain along the road, with additional space for greenery. Many of the trees that cannot grow well will be replaced by new trees. These trees will be given more room to grow and protection from root damage.
- Storm water drain. A storm water drain is being built to prevent the dirty water sewer from getting too full and to collect rainwater from the streets.
With these changes, we want to create a street that is ready for the future, safe and pleasant for residents and users.
Walk-in evening
There was a walk-in evening on Wednesday 13 November about the redevelopment of Goudenregenstraat. Visitors were given the opportunity to view the design, ask questions and exchange ideas.
