How does a payment schedule work?
- You can pay in the following 3 ways:
- You transfer the amount to us yourself every month.
- You authorise us to automatically debit the instalment amounts from your account.
- You have the amounts deducted from your welfare benefit (if you receive one).
- We may charge you interest after each instalment payment. In that case, you will receive a letter from us. We call this an interest regulation. This states how much interest you must pay. The interest rate is 4% of the outstanding amount. Would you rather not pay interest? Then choose the direct debit authorization. For more information, visit the direct debit municipal taxes page.
- Do you have several tax assessments you have not paid?
- In that case, you usually only need to apply for 1 payment schedule. If necessary, we will contact you after we receive your request.
- You can no longer arrange a payment schedule if you have received a wage garnishment, or if your bank account has been attached.
- If you transfer the instalment amounts yourself and fail to pay 1 instalment amount, we will send you an arrears letter. You must still pay the amount in question. You must also pay the other agreed instalment amounts.
If you fail to pay on time a second time, we will stop the agreed payment schedule. You transfer the entire amount (which you still have to pay that year) to us in a single lump sum within 10 days. - You can apply for payment schedules for the same assessment a maximum of twice. If we stop the payment schedule for the second time, you must pay the rest of the total amount of that assessment in a single lump sum.
